CANAJOHARIE COMMUNITY RECREATION (CCR)

FACILITY POLICIES AND RULES OF USE

 

ALL VISITORS OF CCR DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK. EVERY VISITOR ASSUMES ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS THEY INCUR WHILE  ON CCR PREMISES AND ALL EXPENSES RELATED TO ANY INJURY OR LOSS.

 

CCR IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. While we welcome the public, CCR retains all rights associated with private property ownership including the right to prohibit entrance by persons who violate our policies.  

 

CCR STAFF AUTHORITY

Regardless of whether mentioned in this policy document or not, CCR staff are authorized to determine the best use of the facility and to respond as necessary to protect the facility and its guests.

 

Guests are required to abide by any requests or directions issued by CCR staff.

 

AGE GUIDELINES/NO SUPERVISION BY CCR STAFF

CCR staff do not provide supervision to any visitors under the age of 18. All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent or other adult over age 21 who has completed all CCR release documents.

 

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

All users or their accompanying adult assume all risk of injury or loss they incur while on CCR property.  Individuals under the age of 18 must have a liability release form completed, signed by their parent/guardian and on file at CCR.  Those age 18 and older will complete and file the CCR liability release themselves.

 

INJURY

Report any injury immediately to the CCR facility monitor.  All guests or their accompanying adult are responsible for all expenses related to injuries or any other loss or expense incurred as a result of their presence on CCR premises.

VIDEO AUDIO AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Taking photos, videos or audio recording are strictly prohibited in the restrooms and locker rooms.  Guests may reasonably record their child or program, however video or audio recording of CCR staff or other guests is prohibited unless approved in advance by CCR management,

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

CCR is equipped with video surveillance equipment intended for the security and safety of participants and the facility.  Images may also be used by CCR for promotional purposes.  By entering the CCR property all individuals agree to the use of video security systems and to the use of images (for publicity or safety purposes) generated by the equipment.

 

GENERAL CONDUCT

All persons on CCR property are required to conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner at all times.  Conduct which will not be tolerated includes the following and any other behaviors that CCR staff – at their sole discretion - determines to be inappropriate:

  • Obscene or indecent conduct.

  • Expressing complaints or quarrels in an aggressive or threatening manner.

  • Abusive or profane language.

  • Intoxication from any substance.

  • Harassment, physical threat or violence toward any person.

  • Unwanted conduct that could or might cause fear for one’s wellbeing.

  • Disruption of programs or of persons participating or attending programs.

  • Behavior that is, or could be, injurious to any individual.

  • Damage to any property.

  • Violation of any policy outlined in this document.

Any individual who violates any CCR policy will be required to immediately leave the property and may be prohibited from future re-entry.  CCR staff are authorized to contact law enforcement for assistance.

 

EQUIPMENT

Misuse or abuse of any equipment or any part of the building will result the individual being prohibited from entering CCR.  Some examples include: Hanging on basketball rims; causing damage or marks on walls or pads; leaving refuse; touching or interfering with any controls; any other action that damages or interferes in any way with the condition or operation of the facility.

 

DRESS AND FOOTWEAR

CCR staff reserves the right to make all decisions regarding the appropriateness of clothing and may at their sole discretion require that any clothing or footwear item be covered or replaced.  Clothing may not convey inappropriate, offensive or profane images or messages and must not be unacceptably revealing in the sole discretion of CCR staff.

Footwear: Gym area: FLAT SOLED SHOES ONLY.  Appropriate footwear in functional condition is required in the main gym area.  Footwear must not have exposed metal or other potentially damaging materials and must not leave stains or scuff marks.

 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE/CLEANLINESS

Guests are expected to make every effort to maintain CCR clean and orderly including floors, restrooms and all public areas.

Lobby: Single-serve and vending items such as bottled water, individual drink vessel with a lid, and single-serve snacks are allowed.

Main gym: Food and drink are not allowed (with the exception of plain, clear water in closeable containers).  (For events such as receptions, prior arrangements must be made with CCR management.)

REPORT ANY SPILLS IMMEDIATELY TO THE CCR FACILITY MONITOR.

“Kitchen”: Food and snacks for group consumption with prior approval of CCR staff.

Locker rooms and restrooms: No food or drink allowed.

ALL EMPTY CONTAINERS ARE TO BE IMMEDIATELY DISPOSED IN TRASH RECEPTICALS.  SPILLS AND DEBRIS ARE TO BE IMMEDIATELY AND THOROUGHLY CLEANED BY THE USER.

 

PROFESSIONAL/FOR-PROFIT USE

CCR does not allow use of the space for professional instruction, professional competition or similar activities where any organizer or participant may realize any financial gain.  

 

SHARED SPACE

CCR can accommodate multiple activities and users simultaneously.  Guests are restricted to the area of the facility where their program is taking place.  Guests are not allowed on unused portions of the facility unless approved by CCR staff and they are under the immediate supervision of a qualified adult at all times.

 

LOST AND FOUND/VALUABLES

CCR is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items. We recommend that valuable items not be brought onto CCR premises.  CCR staff are not permitted to “hold” any item for any participant or visitor.

 

LOCKER ROOMS

There are limited locker rooms in the facility.  Users are required to provide their own lock and must remove all items including the lock when they leave.  Locker room access must be pre-arranged with CCR prior to your event.  Locker rooms are to be left clean and orderly.

There are no shower facilities at CCR.

 

SMOKING/VAPING

No smoking, vaping or other use of similar devices for any related purposes is allowed on any CCR property.

 

ALCOHOL

Alcohol use on any CCR property is prohibited with the exception below:

For events where the User wishes to have alcohol served (reception or other appropriate event) the User will be responsible for assuring all permits and insurance coverages are secured to the satisfaction of CCR management prior to the event.  The User should allow at least 60 days for this process to be completed.

 

FIREARMS

All firearms are prohibited from CCR properties.

 

INSURANCE

Your program may require that a short-term liability insurance policy naming Arkell Hall Foundation Inc. as an additional insured be purchased by you with proof provided to CCR.  We can provide information for your use.

 

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE

In the event an alarm is sounded, or if an immediate threat inside the building is detected by a program attendee, emergency exits are accessible through the west end of the main gym as well as through the lobby and front entrance.  CCR staff will provide direction if feasible.
